DSR is supported on older and newer cards. However, the first two options under DSR, marked as DL, are actually DL DSR options. They are only available on RTX cards, and they're very much better than old DSR. On a 1080p monitor enabling 1.78x DLDSR will enable 1440p and 2.25x DLDSR will enable 1620p. Both look very good on a 1080p monitor.

Yes, you can use the second screen for non-game things while gaming. I do it all the time. You will have to tab out to get to the second monitor unless you run the game in windowed mode. okay cool, the only reason i ask is because I read somewhere that gaming in windowed mode disables sliIf you're willing to spend the money, you can get 4K monitors with high brightness levels that are capable of HDR playback. However, you can also find these features for a cheaper price on 1080p or 2K monitors. Don't write off aesthetics, either. Huge bezels around the edge of a monitor can detract from your experience while using it.
Yes I know there are 144hrz monitors but Idk if the 980ti can pump out that much on games like bf4 so I was wondering if I can play at 1080p res on a 2k monitor if I was the extra juiceThe real maximum also depends on your monitor. This maximal resolution is also possible for HDMI although you may need to lower the refresh rate, which is only a problem when gaming. A test case is found in the article How to run a WQHD monitor at 2,560 x 1,440 via HDMI on an Intel HD3000, HD4000. .
